The State Attorney’s Office Initiating Dialogue (DOOR) is an online journal of the State Attorney’s Office of the Republic of Croatia. The Journal was established in 2025. The DOOR journal publishes works primarily in the fields of law, legal sciences, and related social sciences. It features scholarly and professional articles on legal and related topics, interviews with individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of law and the rule of law, commentaries and analyses of case-law of Croatian and international courts, reviews of legislative reforms, evaluations of new statutes, bylaws, international treaties, and conventions, along with reviews of books, conferences, and professional meetings.
The journal has five sections: ‘In Black and White’, ‘Word for Word’, ‘Chronicles’, ’Under the Spotlight’, and ‘AI is (not) Always Right’.
The ‘In Black and White’ section features articles covering various areas of law. ‘Word for Word’ offers interviews with individuals who have made significant contributions to democracy, law, and legal scholarship. The ‘Chronicles’ section details court cases and events that have had an impact on the development of law and legal scholarship both domestically and internationally. ‘Under the Spotlight’ includes reviews and articles on case law, as well as current developments in law, legal scholarship, and related fields. Lastly, the ‘AI is (not) Always Right’ section features articles, reviews, and analyses of case law and current trends in cybercrime, as well as articles, presentations and analyses of the impact of artificial intelligence and technology on the evolution of law, legal scholarship, and the legal profession
Manuscripts are organised into sections based on specific topics.
It is available free of charge in electronic format on the website https://doorh.hr/ and on the Hrčak portal for Croatian scientific and professional journals (https://hrcak.srce.hr).
The Editorial Board accepts and publishes only unpublished works. Submission of a manuscript for publication constitutes a declaration of authorship and copyright in accordance with the Copyright and Related Rights Act (Official Gazette No. 111/21). Submission of a manuscript means that the author guarantees it is their original work, does not violate ethical or copyright standards, and adheres to the rules of scientific methodology, particularly in citing the work of others.
The DOOR journal is committed to ethical scientific practice and supports the global dissemination of knowledge through open access.

The journal is issued biannually, in June and December.

Fees and Copyright
DOOR is an open-access journal. The journal does not charge authors any fees for submitting their manuscripts or for the review process, nor does it require payment of any costs related to publication.
Authors retain copyright but grant the journal a non-exclusive license for publication under the CC BY-NC 4.0 license
Authors are permitted to publish manuscripts already accepted for publication or already published in the DOOR journal, in other journals and publications, subject to indicating that the manuscript has already been published in the DOOR journal.
Manuscripts published in the DOOR journal may be copies and distributed on any medium or format, whereupon it is necessary to provide an appropriate acknowledgement of the used manuscript, to provide a link to the licence and note if alterations have been made. Contributions published in the DOOR journal may not be used for commercial purposes.
