Iva Kero has served as a judge since 1 January 2019 in two different municipal courts in Zagreb, first in Novi Zagreb and then in the Municipal Criminal Court in Zagreb, which specialises in criminal cases. Before her appointment, she was a judicial trainee and junior judge in the County Court in Zagreb, assigned to various tasks in criminal cases. She was also seconded to the High Criminal Court of the Republic of Croatia. She participated in numerous seminars and study visits in different European countries, organised by the European Judicial Training Network and the Council of Europe, allowing her to broaden her interests and knowledge in the functioning of other criminal systems across Europe, as well as the EU, Member States of the Council of Europe and accession countries to the EU. She is the author and co-author of numerous papers addressing various issues in criminal law.
