Marin Mrčela is a judge of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Croatia, and an associate professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Osijek. He earned his master's and doctoral degrees in the field of criminal law from the Faculty of Law at the University of Zagreb. Marin has received the Dr Jadranko Crnic Foundation award for his book Witnesses in Criminal Proceedings – Examination of Witnesses as an Evidentiary Act in Criminal Proceedings, which is recognised as a work of particular importance for advancing the legal profession in the Republic of Croatia, along with decorations from the Republic of San Marino – the Order of St Agatha, Knight of the Grand Cross and also the Medal Pro Merito from the Council of Europe. He regularly publishes scientific and professional papers and has published approximately eighty scientific and professional works, including 11 books and manuals.
