Tanja Pavelin
About the Author
Tanja Pavelin was born in Zagreb (Croatia), where she obtained a law degree in 1996 and a doctorate in 2020 from the University of Zagreb. She was appointed judge of the Municipal Court in Zlatar in 2002. In 2011, she was appointed judge of the County Court in Zagreb. Since 1 January 2021, she has been a Judge of the High Criminal Court of the Republic of Croatia, serving as President of the Department for Monitoring and Studying the Case-Law of the Courts of the Council of Europe and the European Union, an EJN contact point, and a member of the Expert Council for the Execution of Judgments and Decisions of the European Court of Human Rights. Tanja has been a Judge at the General Court since 15 September 2025. She is also the author of numerous publications and books, particularly in the fields of criminal law, criminal procedure, judicial cooperation in criminal matters within the European Union and human rights.
